Transforming Lives Through Leadership

Every year, nearly 30,000 students participate in an transformative leadership and skill-building program, Peer Group Connection.

PGC is:
A daily, credit-bearing leadership class for older students that prepares them to serve as peer leaders in their school community.

A weekly class for younger students, facilitated by peer leaders, that supports and eases their transition into middle and high school.

A comprehensive package of evidence-based curriculum, training, and coaching support for school faculty, enabling schools to offer PGC year after year.

Many schools want to transform their students’ lives though PGC, and hundreds of schools each year ask CSS for financial help. Schools, especially those in smaller districts in rural and other under-resourced communities, do not have the funding available to support program implementation. Over the next three fiscal years, CSS is seeking to raise $500,000 for a fund that would offset a portion of costs for schools seeking to launch PGC programs.

Up to five new school partners each year would be selected to receive funding through the PGC Access and Opportunity Fund.

We are seeking initial funding through private investors while we launch other sustainable streams of revenue, including a “Pay it Forward” giving program for alums.
